Show My Colors

I LOVE October!  Counter-intuitive, I know, but I have always felt that Fall was the beginning of life!  Cooler air is my salvation since I hibernate through the oppressive heat and humidity of Summer!  Leaves show their vibrant colors in Fall, due to the increasing Autumn nights that signal the time for rest rather than growth so photosynthesis is halted and trees live off the lifeblood of Summer.  The beautiful colors were always there, they were just covered by the yellow-green chlorophyll.  That’s how I feel in October.  I am so ready to utilize everything I learned during Summer’s hibernation.  And I just want to get out and show my colors.

“... the law of progress in everything we do...."

“This seems to be the law of progress in everything we do;
it moves along a spiral rather than a perpendicular;
we seem to be actually going out of the way,
and yet it turns out that we were really moving upward all the time.”
~ Frances E. Willard

A "library of compassionate reflections." Almost forgot!

I was in a good place this morning, attempting to find a bit of peace and some answers.  Instead, I happened upon some awful stuff in both the virtual and the real world.  Researching the Women on the Edge Foundation can lead me directly into grim statistics and the hard reality regarding the place of women in society.  I can handle that, though, since sharing this information has, seemingly, always been my mission.  In this research, I do manage to stumble across such disturbing information that any woman’s anxiety would kick into overload.

To be honest, I wrote much more, but for the sake of love and peace, I am now deleting it!  Ok, done.  “A library of compassionate reflections” overrules my rant!!  And I feel a little more free (although it took everything I had)!  Try it!

"Depend upon yourself."

“Depend upon yourself. Make your judgement trustworthy by trusting it. You can develop good judgement as you do the muscles of your body - by judicious, daily exercise.To be known as a man of sound judgement will be much in your favor.”

"I can forgive...."

“I can forgive, but I cannot forget, is only another way of saying, I will not forgive.
Forgiveness ought to be like a cancelled note -
torn in two, and burned up, so that it never can be shown against one.”
~ Henry Ward Beecher
